He was born in Maison-Alfort but seems to have an Alsatian last name (he must be Alsatian, certainly).

We can see him in this excerpt from the film "Tais-toi !" (on the other hand, i find it funny that the director of the wire could make play this scene by two European ... in reality, it is quite different thing :rolleyes:):
