Irish?

These are Irish results (mine) :)

Admix Results (sorted):

# Population Percent
1 North_Sea 37.04
2 Atlantic 29.88
3 Baltic 11.89
4 Eastern_Euro 8.75
5 West_Asian 5.16
6 West_Med 4.95
7 Amerindian 1.15
8 Red_Sea 1.1
9 Siberian 0.07

So the results are obviously not Irish. The person has high East Med as well so that's a clue.

They have high East Med and higher West Asian than British. I think it is someone of mixed ancestry British and Southern Italian or Greek.

Good call. Half Irish, half ashkenazi

Nope, components are too unbalanced. He is more like a British mixed with some kind of Southern eastern European.

I guess this is how an Irish-Italian from my area would come out.

I've found these results on FTDNA. This guy is half British/Scottish/Celt/German (Prussia), half Southern Italian. Of course, being he is American he doesn't know exactly his whole ancestry, but he is not half Irish, half Ashkenazi.

It's easier to guess when you know the answer right ;)

He could have been, but you re right, he couldn't have been fully N.Italian, would need at least to swap the east med for west med. I thought about NW+ Ashkenazi but didn't looked right on the pca (i guess only possible with Icelandic). If he s more straight up northern/central europe + S.Italian it makes more sense :

German?

Way too much of "East_Med" for a German.

Of course, Op had already revealed his answer and claimed since the first post that ethnicities are more than one.

Exactly, it would need at least to swap the east med for west med. It's not the first time that I see Americans of mixed ancestry join in the Italian cluster with the components unbalanced.

Interesting. Sorry I got it wrong.
