Which ethnic group now indigenous to the Balkans do you think resemble the original Balkanoids the most in terms of looks? By original Balkanoids I speak of old peoples such as ancient Greeks, Thracians, Dacians, Illyrians, etc of that era.

Ancient Greeks were the most numerous.

Actually, the Greeks said the Thracians were the most numerous people of the World after the Indians.

Ok so then Indians resemble the original Balkanoids the most.

Ancient balkan population were very meditaranean so i think closest to them are Greeks and especially southern ones.Northern euro dna came with medieval barbarian invasions mostly. So the further south you go the least the populations were affected by migrations

This is absolutely not true. Light pigmentation and features were common among Thracians and Illyrians.

Nevertheless, academic studies have concluded that Thracians had physical characteristics typical of European Mediterraneans. According to Dr. Beth Cohen, Thracians had "the same dark hair and the same facial features as the Ancient Greeks."[46] Recent genetic analysis comparing DNA samples of ancient Thracian fossil material from southeastern Romania with individuals from modern ethnicities place Italian, Albanian and Greek individuals in closer genetic kinship with the Thracians than Romanian and Bulgarian individuals.[47]

Thracians were mostly Pontids, Dinarids and Alpinids, sometimes with more northern influence. Just like modern Romanians and Bulgarians. This is what reconstructions show. Greeks have more exotic influence than Romanians and Bulgarians northern.

Genetically maybe they were closer to Greeks though.

Greeks from Greece have no exotic influence lol.The only migrations that influenced greeks were the same as at other balkanians but to a lesser degree. On the contrary Bulgaria was settled my many armenians at medieval years.

Lol we settled everywhere you know , but there where some Armenian soldiers who battled on the thracian side back in time and stayed there.

Well, that is true, but more Armenians settled in Greece than in Bulgaria. Especially during Byzantine times.

armenians were mostly settled in thrace.Greece in a big part of the byzantine years was under byzantine control only partially and intermittently.Thrace was a much more strategic place than greece due to proximity to constantinople so there were much effort to keep it under control.Population replacements etc were mostly focused on thrace.

There were indeed assimilated Armenians in Bulgaria but their number is small. Not enough to affect the population significantly.

Bulgarian Catholics are thought to be partially descendants of Armenian Pavlikians. There are two Bulgarian Catholics. Decide by yourself

The Balkan_IA sample from Bulgaria and the Mycenaean samples were very south shifted. Like Southern Italians but closer to Sardinia (Lazaridis et al 2017 and Mathieson et al 2018). Greeks and Albanians are the most south shifted Balkan peninsula populations hence they are the closest to the original Palaeo-Balkan people.

The Proto-Greeks arrived in the Balkans before Paleo-Balkan people, so I suppose they looked different. There were also other people already there before the arrival of the Proto-Greeks, and I guess someone today looks kinda like them, right?

Non Slavic admixed Greeks are probably the closest to ancient Bakanites. Europe in the South was considerably more southern shifted in the past.
