Ok, this is the reverse of the usual question.

This one is, while it is clear that Sicilians are island Mediterranean people of the same sort as Cretans, Cyclades, and Dodecanese people and are not MENA, which MENA group is the most overlapping?

I don't fully count Cyprus as MENA or European, but in between. If given as a choice I'd put that.

Then Lebanon. Syrians and Palestinians and Jordanians would be more exotic, and Turks more dinarid/armenoid.

The core of the question is to figure out if people think the look that is present gravitates toward Semites, or toward Indo-Iranian type people like Armenians, Kurds, etc.

Not that they look too different but you know what I mean.

to answer your question . you can find in all west asian population people who will pass for sicilian and vice versa . I dont think that there is much of a difference in total numbers

Many could pass in NA, in Tunisia especialy. Even if there are some pan-Na looks (guy with the hat, pic 4, for exemple).
But I voted Turkey because the oriental/very european looking mix people is more a Turkish thing.
+ I don't find them particulary levantines, i was divided but in majority the orientals looking fit more with Tunisia than Lebanon imo.

Indo-Iranians and "Semites" gravitate more to each other than either group to Sicilians.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee IndoIranians were iranic people from central asia area . only part of our ancestry (which we are proud of btw. but thats not the point) is from there . we are mostly east med and caucasus scoring native people . and "semites" is also not a thing and encompasses many several people with big differences

In the pictures, in my opinion, those who look less european and can fit in a MENA country look more Tunisian than Lebanese, in average (of course some individual are more levantine oriented, but that's not the majority in this case for me)
