For those of you into black metal, check out this incredible new album. If you are familiar with Agalloch, the new album contains much of the old neofolk and progressive elements (but tremendously boosts the latter with highly intelligent and complex 10+ minute-long tracks) with a much rawer black metal edge. Honestly, this is probably the best album I've heard in decades.

Agalloch is a great band indeed, but this post is unconfortably similar to advertising spam we get here every now and then.

Still, welcome to the forum. Will you please introduce yourself in the section reserved for that in the Lounge?

Sure, no problem. I am not a marketing agent for the band :)

Carcass-like vocals, lol.

I simply can't like Agalloch, really. Bear in mind that I'm huge fan of Black Metal with Folk elements, the so-called Pagan Black Metal.

A magnificent American band in the same line that destroys Agalloch imo is Wormtongue (http://www.myspace.com/wormtongueus).

Not bad, avantgardism with spanish clasical guitars that fit perfectly in the ambient... just as some of the songs of the Gothic Game series soundtracks, at least to my ears.

The only American band that, IMO, is in the same ball park as Agalloch is Wolves in the Throne Room, and even then Agalloch is head and shoulders above.

I'm not a particularly big fan of Agalloch (or Black Metal generally). The only Agalloch song that I remember liking was called Not Unlike the Waves.

Don't worry man, listen to whatever suits you :thumbs
That's my personal taste, I don't will to start an Agalloch Mockers Club.
Just make sure you pay attention to the other band I posted, that may enrich your musical basis.

Anyone know where to find lyrics to the songs on this album? I haven't been able to find them online anywhere...
