Dos anyone know how to jon the project? Does Dienekes accept only "purebreds"?

you can contact him via his blog, but you dont need to join the project if you are only interested in admixture, as you can then join Gedmatch instead, its easy to use and will give you allot of new info on your data..

Yeah but I'm concerned about calculator effects and you have find Lithuaniansa to compare yourself with. I guess when you are in the project it is simplier, no?

I've emailed Vadim about MDLP. I'm thinking about Fennoscandia as well. The latter don't release any calculators, so you either join or nothing.

Well, none of the projects with the exception of Fennoscania have released much this year, so i would not hold my breath..the most interesting would be IBD runs, which iknow Eurogenes will do sometime soon, but David is waiting for a new program to be released before he does that run, so he is unsure when it will happen..but i am guessing in July or so..

In the past, he has primarily sought those who have 4 grandparents of the same nationality, except for the few times he opened up submission for anybody. I believe the last time was almost 2 years ago. When I joined, I happened on to his website in the evening. He was taking 25 or 30 new participants in an open submission. I sent him my data. Within a few hours the submission was closed. As has been mentioned already, he hasn't done much lately. His last few projects required the participants to run the Dodecad Oracle program themselves.

I am wondering if there is a study done with the French being divided in North/South? Or if anyone got the specific French samples in some of the dodecad studies. Pallantides posted one but the link is broken.

"French" is from Lyon. "French_D" are individual french people who submited their data to the Dodecad project, they could be from all over.

So you don't know of a study which divided France in South/North or maybe even by region? And what about the individual samples from "French_D". Do you have anything like this but for the French?

No, the only ethnicity that is usually divided on genetic studies is the italians.

Thanks, but it seems like you can't download portraits from other Dodecad studies than just these two? I'm particularly interested in the K=10 and K=12a, just the portraits.

Please help me understanding my results:
My ancestry is mostly Russian, with some admixture. Dodecad shows very good that I am Russian, unlike other calculators. It also shows the least distances.

You say your ancestry is mostly Russian, but what is your other part of your ancestry ? the Oracle works based on the averages it has , so what this says is that you have more Med than the Russian average,

My other ancestry is still unknown. Thats why I've posted a topic to classify my minor ancestry, given the Russian one. My mother has much darker eyes and looks more Med than me. My grandmother and her sister are even more Med, Dodecad World 9 is the only one test which showed Russian, other didn't even do that! I am sure I am not Ukrainian, Hungarian, Slovakian etc like other calculators say. All ancestors to 5 generations back lived in Russia and had very typical, classical Russian names.
Another guy on Gedmatch with silimar Dodecad results, similar matches, also mostly Russian ancestry, oracle shows the same Russian percentage as for me, but with Jews instead of Italians...

What % does your unknown ancestry constitute in your ethnic makeup?

They certainly are not 8% Turkish. 23andme does not identify any exotic admixture either apart from my mother's 2.6% nonspecific Southern European and 0.7% Jewish. My brother gets 1.1% Southern European in speculative estimate. These numbers are low in standart estimate. Dodecad certainly exeggerates these numbers.

Still Dodecad is the only one who showed me my main ancestry, and you see Lithuanians in your results, too, which is your main one :)

My unknown ancestry could be for 5-10% if Middle-Eastern, or 10-15% if Greek/Balkans. My grandmother's parents came under political repressions and were departed to Siberia when she was little. All we know is that they were from rich families, well-educated. He (Gregory) could be fully Romanian/Bulgarian, 50% Greek or 25% Middle-Eastern. His wife, Cleopatra (we have only very bad quality photo) had dark curly hair and spoke French. Many calculators showed some French ancestry to me. My grandmother, Mariam (this name is also Christian!) could pass as Georgian/Chechen. My grandmother's sister was all her life taken for Jewess, she even married a 100% Jew.
I didn't expect Italy or Spain at all. There were no migration to Russia from these regions.
My father's side is northern Russians probably with Lithuanian/Polish/German influence.

What I wanted to show is that it can be pretty skewed.

Greece certainly fall out of the rest of the context. And French (depending on how much % of German blood you have and where it is from). Some of your ancestry may be picked up as a crossway I guess.

Many people complain they couldn't find any "exotic" roots that are documeted, like Gypsy etc. To me better overrepresented, but learn something new about your ancestry. It is not worth paying money for test if it shows you boring results, and still incorrect.

I have German blood for sure, certainly from Prussia. I have many matches from there, pretty many German last names. 2 of my top 5 matches are one fully German (Volga Germans- originally from Prussia) and one with Irish/Lithuanian/French roots. But enormous many Anglo-Saxons which are not so close.

Interestingly!
Oracles almost everywhere show steadily the British Isles, Germany, the majority they with us have the general site of DNA in the 15th chromosome. There are even Basques, correspond with one family, say that they are clean Basques, other families from the British Isles know the family trees till 13-15 centuries. :)
