(London is at a low altitude above sea level (hence the massive flood barriers we have in place as the River Thames runs through the entire city and it's only a very short distance above the rising North Sea level,) and at a low height from the sun, and it's often cloudy here. I learned that Madrid has the highest altitude in Europe and is closer to the sun, but there's also the distance from the equator to consider too.)

It's often chilly here with a damp type of cold that goes through your bones, and with mild weather, and a lot of sea erosion causing landslides and large chunks of cliff-edges around the coastline of our island to collapse and fall off into the surrounding seas and ocean each year, so we're very gradually shrinking due to rough seas and acid rain causing much coastal erosion. There's over 10,000 islands that form Great Britain, but most of it just little chunks of land out at sea that was once attached to the mainland of our island.

Geologists say our island is drifting slightly north each year away from continental Europe which our island was once attached to, but we won't need to extend the Channel Tunnel under the sea for a long while as we're only moving away from Europe at a rate of something like 1cm or a few mm each year.

I wonder where our island will be in five hundred thousand years from now, as the continent shapes and regions are predicted by geologists to look very different on the future map.

64.5 parallel north.

The 64th parallel north is a circle of latitude that is 64 degrees north of the Earth's equatorial plane. It crosses the Atlantic Ocean, Europe, Asia and North America.

At this latitude the sun is visible for 21 hours, 1 minute during the summer solstice and 4 hours, 12 minutes during the winter solstice.

Yes, though in my town that's a bit north of latitude 64 we can see the sun for 21 hours and 43 minutes during the summer solstice. But if we go to the nearby hill/mountain we can see the midnight sun.

The city where I was born and where I grew up until I left Venezuela (Caracas) is close to the parallel 10 N.

The cities where I lived in Spain (Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Madrid) as well as the city where I live right now (Columbus, Ohio) are all close to the parallel 40 N.
