It is nevertheless quite good to have a healthy dose of skepticism in order to make valid assessments; which is quite necessary to one's critical thinking skills that is always a plus/benefit in its own right. One thing that caught my eye is the term "democracy" being used left and right as a populist term. The word "democracy" being used left and right is nothing more than a political tool to assuage/appeal to the masses on a rudimentary level. Thus, one's electoral votes can insinuate votes inclined towards a voting base. Which is why I will assume is geared towards "progressive, idealistic humanitarian types" and refugees to secure their place in politics in order to further their own proposals and agendas.

Which is why "democracy" is parroted left and right that is no different than a campaign slogan such as "Yes we can!", or "Change!"/"Progress!" that is connotatively "good" or "neutral" in the messages it espouses. Meaning that, it is a way to sway the masses with false pretenses in the "promises/commitments" they seek to bring; in reality, is contrary to their own word in order to get into office.
