Is he ethnic Estonian, Karl ? He looks sort of strange but i'll go with East Nordid with Lappish influnce.

He should be, I do not know anything about his ancestry.

lol at dark Northern-Europeans always having "Lappish" influence. :D

He's probably of those strange looking Estonian who have phenotype that's rare in Estonia.

Not really. His eye looks Lappish influence but i might be wrong.

He reminds me of some famous Finns, not at all uncommon. In fact, I think he looks typically "Finland proper" or Estonian.

Very difficult case. Seems to be a strange variant of Keltic Nordid with Alpinid admixture. "Lappoid" traits would then be merely individual methinks.

So, Finns assimilated the Lapps to a greater extent than I assumed. If "Finland proper" Finns have Lappoid traits.

He could have German ancestry, when I was in Hamburg, I saw many people who looked similar to him.

Germans also have Lappoid traits? Damn, this is bad. Agrippa, our German expert of anthropology doesn't consider Lapps and Lappoid traits to be European.

On a more serious note. Northern-Germans can look similar to Estonians and vice-versa without Estonians having German ancestry nor Germans having Estonian ancestry. Although the changes of Germans having Estonian ancestry are greater than Estonians having German ancestry.

dark Northern-Europeans
The only dark stuff I see in this guy is his eyes

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic but I don't see anything I would associate with Lapps in him. These threads are of course rather pointless and usually have all kinds of and my opinion as a person largely disinterested not to mention ignorant in topics of human physical anthro does not really have any "scientific" value. But yeah, like I said, a common look here.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I just find it very funny that a person who's the most active poster in the taxonomy section, knows the least about anthropology. There's nothing lappoid, in my opinion, about Jürgen Ligi nor "Finland proper" Finns.

I just noticed that my post doesn't really make much sense. Oh well. :coffee:

I meant to say that there always seem to be plenty of hidden agendas at play in these threads.
