This Canadian guy is everywhere and eats everything he finds and everytime he just says anything he eats is so good and tasty. here he's in Indian south Chennai. He eats things sold in the street.

Euro people are really more open than other peoples when it comes eating anything they find IMO. When I read İndian guys in the forum, even many of them seems to warn about not doing everywhere.

Honestly I would be afraid of eating street food in Turkey too.
The reason - different hygienic standards in different countries. I guess my body is not resistant against bacteria that are common occurred in street food in exotic countries like India or Turkey.

Street food is the best!! I have the digestive system of a cast-iron pot. My husband teases me and says I would eat off the back of a garbage truck.

Chicken feet are good. Grilled over an open fire on the pavement.

We call it the 'kleermakerszit' or 'tailor's sit'. I bet you can even maintain the lotus position which is even harder for those who aren't used to from young age.

My mom doesn't let me eat street food, but I do eat it without her knowing. I've never really gotten sick from it, though a lot of the times, things aren't made from hygienic methods. Though, there are trusted establishments that are known for employing hygienic methods and such. The foodranger dude does go to some places like that (e.g. Kareem's in Old Delhi which is more than a century old restaurant and is very famous), and probably some rather unknown ones.

I dont eat all street foods in İstanbul too, many foreigners and Kurds or Arabs sell street food in Istanbul but when it's Turks it's known to be safest :) Who cares a Czech doesnt eat Turkish street food. Turkish street food is sold in Germany and Netherlands streets (sometimes by Kurds from Turkey too) and natives eat.

The problem in countries like in India it's a bit food culture too. The man sells Trevor a street food and he prepares by smashing a sort of bread inside his hand, he touches every single part and interior of bread with his fingers.
And Trevor eats and says its tasty and good. :)

Turkish street food is sold even in every Czech small town (There are plenty of Turks in CzR if you don't know that) - but Turks have to meet strict Czech hygiene standards. I am pretty sure that in Germany or Netherlands the situation is same.

It can be done, but have the anti-diarrhoea medication ready. In fact, take it immediately before, with or after the food. Consider downing some natural anti-microbal food supplements throughout the trip. It can't hurt.

Been there, done that. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you end up very sick for days. That's what happens when you eat and drink faecal matter.

Avoid fresh paan wrapped in leaves and washed in tap water, and similar products.

The key to remember is that the water supply in the subcontinent and many other countries is simply not safe. Even locals get sick from it occasionally. Proceed with caution. Cooked meat and vegetable-based foods without uncooked tap water remaining on them when served are probably more likely to be safe.

Well, he speaks Mandarin fluently so I think he lives in China obviously. There have been food safety scandals with Chinese street food but I think they improved regulations in the past few years. I have eaten a lot of street food in China and they usually have some kind of government license that they display, especially if it's in an area designated for street food.

India might be poor, but they make this stuff in huge quantities so it is fresh and doesn't linger and get bacteria. Spices help to kill germs. I ate streetfood all the time, every day when I lived in Asia, mostly Thailand though, never once got ill. I am much more wary with low to midrange hotels in Asia cause you can't see the kitchen. I got violently ill more than once eating chicken such places. Thought I was going to die got so dehydrated.

The government designated eating streets are usually pretty safe and clean. I've never had problems and it's generally well organized. The ones I would avoid would be someone just on a random street corner with a ramshackle cart.

It's not a common thing. And different regions eat different foods. China is a huge country, bigger than Europe. The Cantonese eat the most exotic foods, they eat pretty much anything. While there are other regions where they eat much less limited meats.

Well, Sichuan is in Southwest China, it is famous for it's very spicy cuisine. So perhaps there is some cross over with Northern Thailand and Burma as far as the food goes. But FME, it is really quite different from Thai food. Also, the type of Chilis they use is very different.

I've had a lot of Thai food, and although some of it looks similar to Sichuan food, the actual taste is quite different. But the one dish that might be similar, is the use of peanut sauce in some of the dishes.

I would probably research the area I would go to, beforehand. Seeing that the body may or may not get sick from eating certain foreign delicacies. I would probably stick with foods I'm familiar with if possible or remotely similar. Nevertheless, I would exercise caution in foreign countries because tourists or foreigners are perfect candidates to scam if one isn't familiar with the customs and mannerisms that is especially prevalent in major cities.
