Compared to Cretans, Sicilians, etc.

Red component is peaking in Arabia and Levant. Why do the islanders here -- AEI (Dodecanese) -- have less of this component than Crete and Sicily? They seem to just be a mixture of Sardinian and Caucasian for the most part.

That component seems almost negligible in them, it is strange. This is from the new study Sarno et al.

Arabs and Phoenicians never came to Greece ,
also "Indoeuropean" Dorians went to Crete and from there to other Aegean islands

Also Greeks didnt mixed with otttomans , all ottomans and greek muslims exported to Turkey
after the end of the war

So the few atypical phenotypes of Oriendalids in modern Greece came here the last years
and most of them are ottoman leftovers

Also Greece have a slavic input like other balkan countries , we just dont have the slavic language
but phenotypes are here, same with Albanians have also slavic phenotypes

Because Greece's past under Christianity was the Byzantine Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire and they had at least 1,000 years of glory and were instrumental in saving Europe from barbarism many times - they defeated the Arabs exclusively, no Arab set foot in the eastern parts of Europe whereas they ruled parts of Spain, Portugal, France and Italy in some cases for over 700 years, the Byzantines were the only ones that defeated the Huns, sending Attila into historical obscurity, the Byzantines defeated all sorts of other steppe Mongol tribes Avars, Bulgars and Turks before succumbing to Turks after plague had robbed them of their strength. They even defeated the barbarous western European crusaders before those supposed friends sacked Constantinople in 1204.

Cretans after 2000 BC are a blend of Hellenes and Hellads. The Hellads (population of Greece pre-2200 BC) spoke proto-Greek.

Then the Pelasgians/Greeks and Hellenes colonize Crete, they spoke the same language currently known as Greek. The Hellenes spoke the Doric-Aeolic dialect or the Attic-Ionic dialect and the Pelasgians/Greeks spoke the Arcado-Cypriot
dialect which is older dialect, also known as Myceanean Greek.

"There is a fair and fruitful island in mid-ocean called Crete; it is thickly peopled and there are nine cities in it: the people speak many different languages which overlap one another, for there are Achaeans, brave Eteocretans, Dorians of three-fold race, and noble Pelasgi."

Linear A is invented and the Cretan and Trojan stone palaces only start being built after other Greek tribes arrive and not before. The Greeks were the so-called Minoans after 2000 BC (who aren't even named correctly since Minos I did not reign until 1406 BC which is during the Mycenaean period). Later a second wave arrived in northern Greece pushing the first wave further south and east and the stone palaces at Troy and in Crete start to appear and Linear A is developed. This coincided with the time that the kings who would later become the Orphic gods, so named after Orpheus (1260 BC) who was the first to worship them, Kronos, Uranus etc

The western European Crusaders sacked Constantinople as a revenge for the Massacre of the Latins, learn some history.

No one has answered my question.

Why do the rest of the Aegean islands have insignificant recent Levantine input compared to Crete and Sicily?

The red component peaks, as far as Europe goes, in Agrigento which is likely due to their continued contacts with Malta and the Arab world even after the Crusades.

Hmm, maybe becasue Crete was more southern than other Aegean Islands? And it was on some migratory and commercial routes since antiquity. Also Minoans could have some contact with Levant?

Yh they came directly from there and into Crete probably during the Neolithic or early Bronze age

Cretans having less than Sicilians also implies it could be partly Phoenician in the case of the latter.
