I just went into my 23andme account and I note that my paternal haplogroup has been change.
I got this:
"
Please note: Your paternal haplogroup assignment has been changed to reflect an improvement to our algorithm and naming convention. You can learn more about this change on our blog."

So J2 to J-M172.

Its the same. You should learn about haplogroups. J2 is pretty old marker. It doesnt tell you anything except it was somewhere outside of africa. Doesnt even tell you if its european or middle eastern

It seems nothing changed, basicly J2 and J-M172 are the same thing.

Yh, but I'm re-testing at Yseq because I was a bit skeptical with the result as the haplogroup I got J1, doesn't make sense autosomally

The only thing it change was now it's listed now as J-M172 instead of just J2.
