It would be an equal sin and ruin of the pizza, no lesser or greater.

I could swear that a Russian friend of mine told me they do this in Russia. Can anyone else confirm that?

I once had a Pizzeria that I was training the pizzaiolo at and some kids from Siria come in and order a pizza I make it and then they ask for ketchup, I really was so close to kicking them out., I told them "fine I will but please please at least try it without instead, this is not the same pizza you are used to doing that with." I was assuming of course they don't have pizza verace in Syria.

No. Never.

Recently almost all pizza via Dominos and other companies have dressings or terrible sauces poured upon the Pizza. Probably trying to disguise the blandness of their offerings and their minimal toppings keeping the price low.

How is it not pizza? It's not the same quality as something homemade, but it's not bad.

True pizza is very simple. Dough made at least one day ahead to allow the proper texture and flavor to develop. Hand stretch no machines. Quality flour and ingredients throughout. There doesn't have to be tomato sauce but the cheese should be high quality and the toppings should not overwhelm. Extra virgin olive oil should be used. The dough should be charred nicely but not burnt. It should not be thick and puffy but it should have a great texture while at the same time being thin. The crown/Crust of the pizza should be the most puffed up part. When tomato sauce is used it should also be fresh and simple extra virgin olive oil high quality tomato (I make mine verace napoletana so I use Neapolitan while tomatoes) crushed, the tiniest hint of garlic and slight hint of basil, and salt. I also use a bit of pecorino in my pizze but that is the Sardinian in me.

It is the best. I have only had homemade a few times. Making dough is a hassle and I swear I do everything right, but it never rises completely and it stays way too dense and yeasty. It's a shame because the dough is really what makes or breaks a good pizza.

It's not about it being home made. If people don't know what they are doing, (and I am a trained pizzaiolo thanks to my Neapolitan father in law who is also a trained pizzaiolo) I say just go to your nearest certified Neapolitan Pizzeria, or whatever comes closest! Other than that New York/Connecticut style is good!

No, it's not a custom over here and it's not appealing to me.

Why are you eating pizza if you're trying to lose weight?

I prefer deep dish (Chicago style) or thin crust (New York style). So don't dip it in anything.

Only if i get low quality round table or dominos would I dip it in something.

Nope. I don't put any condiment on my pizza. Well except for chilli flakes sometimes

I often put hot-sauce on my pizza, but never any ketchup--that would actually be kind of weird for me. Ketchup 4 hot dogs yes IMO. :)

This is something I've seen people doing in the middle east/subcontinent. Even mayonnaise. But never in Australia.

I eat my pizza just the way it is. I do not dip it into anything. Plus, I have no time to do that. I devour that sexy beast as soon as my eyes see it mmmm
