Remedello culture

The Remedello culture (Italian Cultura di Remedello) developed during the Copper Age (3rd millennium BC) in Northern Italy, particularly in the area of the Po valley. The name comes from the town of Remedello (Brescia) where several burials were discovered in the late 19th century.[1]

Celts arrived later maybe.

Their homeland is in Switzerland. Pretty near to northern Italy
An italic tribes were italic therefore, had a ancient connection to celts due to te italo-Celtic people meaning at even more ancient times Italics and celts were the same thing inhabitating central europe

Interesting, perhaps this is naivety but I would have thought the ancient N. Italians would have been Celts - apparently not!

I would say that Celts and Germanics and some Italic tribes were more shifted towards being Steppe-shifted peoples who brought forth the Indo-European linguistic family until much later coinciding with the Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age who mixed with pre/non-Indo-European peoples who were mostly neolithic farmer and WHG (Western Hunter-Gatherer) ancestry. Nevertheless, these pre-Indo-European Western and Southern European populations are very "southern-shifted" in the sense closest to Sardinians who are a good proxy genetically as a modern-day preserved population without any Steppe admixture.

The continental Celts have their origins centered more so in Central-Eastern Europe. Germanics in Northern Europe and Slavs/Balts in Eastern-Northeastern Europe, etc. Who seemed very "Steppe-shifted" during this time until its spread to Western/Southern/Southwestern Europeans during the Bronze Age. Hence, prehistoric Britons/Gaels/Italics/French/Iberians seem more "Neolithic-shifted" compared to Northern, Central and Eastern Europeans during this time.

It's even more simple, they all are more Neolithic-shifted because Remedello samples are not Italic or Celt or what you want. It's like saying that Ballynahatty is an Irish Celt.

Anyway Remedello is somewhat similar to Ballynahatty, and all aren't exactly the same of modern-day Sardinians, but definitely more Basque-shifted. Ballynahatty seems even a bit closer to Sardinians though than the other two.

Simply said, "Italic" is a more amenable term to denote the confederation of ancient peoples who inhabited the Italian peninsula from a historic perspective that included both Indo-European and Non-Indo European tribes. Before the absorption of all Italic tribes under the national-collectivist term "Roman" in antiquity. "Italian" merely denotes the modernistic perspective/nationality of peoples inhabiting the Italian peninsula. Hence, is a collective term to use for Italy's ancient history. Whereas denoting things as "EEF" and "WHG" is a more politically correct term from a genetic perspective. So its best to simplify the terms so it is easier for people to follow the context of what you are saying.

It has a historical and cultural value, but in this context, genetics, the use of the term Italic creates only a lot of confusion.

Villabruna (Epigravettian, Hunter-Gatherer R1b) from North Italy.

The Late Upper Paleolithic burial Villabruna 1 (Val Cismon, Belluno, Italy), directly dated to about 14,000 years ago (calibrated chronology), includes a well preserved skeleton accompanied by grave goods and covered with painted stones. The skeleton belongs to an adult male, about twenty-five years old, characterized by a relatively tall stature for the time period, short trunk and more linear body proportions than its contemporaries, similar to those of recent North-African populations. Multivariate statistical analysis of craniofacial characteristics place Villabruna 1 close to Le Bichon 1, a geographically and chronologically nearby specimen, suggesting genetic affinity among the last hunter and gatherers from the alpine region. Observations on dental wear and microwear indicate that the anterior dentition was involved in non-alimentary activities such as the mastication of fibrous materials including large abrasive contaminants. Whereas the information on dietary habits drawn from dental wear is not conclusive, stable isotopes analysis points to a terrestrially based diet rich in animal proteins. Biomechanical study of major long bones indicates heightened overall robusticity and marked humeral asymmetry. These results suggest intense unimanual activity, possibly linked to repeated throwing movements in hunting, and the combined effect of mobile lifestyle and mountainous terrain, as far as the femur is concerned. Paleopathological analysis did not reveal signs of any major event which might help identify a possible cause of death. However, macroscopic and radiographic examination of the skull reveals traces of porotic hyperostosis, indicative of a healed anemic condition. Finally, localized tibial periostitis, probably of traumatic origin, and lumbar hyperlordosis associated with deformations of vertebral bodies and L5 spondylolysis provide evidence of additional, minor, pathological changes.

They are certenly not pure EEFs, first two kits have very significant WHG admixture.

Certainly not an Italic either. In a PCA they all seem in direction of Basques.

The Irish sample and this North Italian are closest to Sardinians, Iberians, South Italians, Greeks, Moroccan even!

Very close indeed, @49.27 @ 48.484615 @ 37.460499 @ 38.718155.

How can the Celts take over north Italy but leave a pocket of this guy?

You all make no sense. Lots of fantasy & imagination

Closer than to other people.

Actually they were closer, especially the oldest ones, to Iberians and Basques.

They are certenly not pure EEFs, first two kits have very significant WHG admixture.

The oldest Remedello are more Basque-like. The youngest Remedello and the Irish Ballynahatty are closer to Sardinians (If I did everything correctly).

Remedello is Copper age, a mix of EEF and mesolithic, surely with the local Villabruna type, so very high WHG, like all CA/LN.

Interesting, perhaps this is naivety but I would have thought the ancient N. Italians would have been Celts - apparently not!
Nope. These samples are from the Chalcolithic. The indoeuropean invasions came after that, in the Bronze Age.

Are these people the original Alpines? Where do Alpines even come from, and do W. Euro and E. Euro Alpines have the same source?

Some are more sardinian shifted, some are more basque shifted.

It's like with the nuragh sample; they are all more basque shifted that modern sardinian.
