The test was done by the Genographic project from National Geographic and the subject is Greek. Does anybody know anything at all about these Haplogroups?

His mtDNA is U4a1 right?

Could you perhaps explain, how I may interpret the link you posted? There are some people from Sweden, Germany, Russia, Estonia and Kazakhstan which have the same haplogroup. What does that mean? Do you have some information about the yDNA J-Z191 as well perhaps?

Pay attention to time periods.

Mesolithic samples are the oldest. So you can see that U4a1 originated most probably in North-Eastern Europe (eastern Baltic Sea area), and expanded from that region after Mesolithic times.


Do you have some information about the yDNA J-Z191 as well perhaps?

No but maybe I will find something.
