After careful consideration, I've decided that From Dusk Till Dawn is the best vampire movie in decades. :thumbs up

Haven't seen that one yet Absinthe. Last Vampire move I saw was Twilight - it was a teen flick but mildly entertaining nevertheless.

For me nothing beats Stephen King's Salem's Lot.

Handsome fella eh?

YES! I have seen it at a local art house theater, and it is VERY fucking good! A very dark film, though.

It's strangely a very romantic movie, even though both of the main characters are only 12 years old.

Twilight is for peasants compared to this.

So, I just finished watching this and I can only say...

OMGTHATWASGREATTHANKYOUFORTELLINGMEABOUTTHIS!!!

Seriously, this is the most believable vampire film I've seen since Interview With the Vampire. The characters were all real people, not just creatures and/or prey. It was very bleak and, at the same time, intimate. I'm definitely going to buy a hard copy once it gets released here.

Perhaps the swedish language makes it more "exotic" to you guys or something. Felt kind of like the usual swedish movie, entertaining in a dull way but nothing I'll ever watch again.
There's actually another swedish vampire-film out on the market called "Frostbiten" (frostbitten).

I liked the film, but I didn't find it as special as others seem to do. It is nice, however, to see some original twists in vamp movies, specially for the settings.

Frankly, I still go for Coppola's Dracula as the best one in the last 20 years, with Interview probably in the second place. I like original variants -for instance, I liked the change about the real origin of Dracula in Lussier's Dracula 2001, even if the film is but a simple divertimento- but in general I'm more of an old-school Gothic than a Vampo-punk or a Neo-Vamp emo.

It's a good movie, but I prefer 30 Days of Night (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/30_Days_of_Night_%28film%29). Both are a part of my collection though.

Nah.

Have you seen underworld 4? If you haven't you should watch it. Twilight series is pretty good to I will admit. I have never seen 30 days of night though.

I don't like Twilight, and I think the Underworld films are kind of meh.

Underworld has just gotten so cheesy and dull. And too unrealistic. It's just like resident evil series where she can kill 100 zombies in 20 seconds.

I think it was cool though how they brought humans into the mix. Underworld rise of the lycans was also entertaining imo.
