Dear users who have taken both tests, did your GEDmatch results differ noticeably at all when you took ancestryDNA from 23andme? I have been comparing a lot of Afghan results to mine on gedmatch today, and I have noticed that the ones from ancestry dna are similar to each other. They are more Kalash and Burusho shifted, while the ones coming from 23andme were far more North Caucasian shifted on gedmatch.

Anyone have any experiences?

No, the difference is very small. I have compared the results of the same persons from both 23 and Ancestry.
By the way, please share your K13 results in that thread.

It's funny my gedmatch results with both ancestry and 23 and me are very similar. Only a small fraction of the percentages are different. However, the ancestry and 23 and me results themselves are dramatically different. On the speculative setting for 23 and me I get like 86 percent Italian and like 2.5 percent Middle Eastern. For ancestry I get 73 percent Italian/Greek and 13 percent Middle Eastern and 10 percent Caucasus (which is essentially the Middle East anyway). So that's like 23 percent overall Middle Eastern on ancestry. Big difference from the 2.5 percent I get on 23&me. That's weird.

Not really. I even have the same quirks like 1-2% Oceanian on both of them. They must use similar chips.

It's not just you. I have seen other Latin Americans including Andids scoring Oceanian as well.

A Russian who has done all the three of them - 23, Ancestry and FTDNA. See for yourself.

For my mother they both came out similar, though with Ancestry she came back more African. 23andme shifted her too much toward Poland.

If I were you I'd wait like 3-5 years since DNA tests are making rapid developments as of now and then take another. Who knows? Maybe one that's good for your kind will come out. I also plan on taking another one when I can get a job n' sheeit in about 5 years or so. Right now you're just wasting your money IMO.

For me, the numbers are similar but not quite the same, and I don't know why, because I thought your DNA raw data should be the same, no matter the company that you use, but it looks like I might be wrong.
