Most Han Chinese are not as pale as Lucy. And I can still see something Semitic about Asma.

I think both are fairly typical for their (parents) ethnicity

Both are typical for southern europe.

Both are believable. Asma al-Assad could blend in in Europe, though.

Well, some MENAs blend in well with Euros. I often notice later 'ah, she's North African' or 'ah, she's Levantine'. I'm saying she, because it happens with women the most. I'm of course a hypocrite there. ;) But I had that experience the most often with women than with men for some reason. Perhaps because they're attractive to me making me more irrational as a result? Shame on me then. :P

i also noticed that women tend to pass easier , at least here.

MENA women generally look lighter than men.

Asma Al-Assad doesn't look atypical for Syria imo. People tend to ''darkify'' MENAs a lot, as if they were kinda South Asian. But in reality they're close to Europeans than to South Asians.

I think both look typical.

Asma, but she is still well within the Syrian range. Lucy Liu is pretty typical for Southern China.

There is no one Han Chinese look. Lucy Liu is prob mid range even for Southern China. She is not that pale.

Depends where in the Middle East. Asma would certainly be rare in the Arabian Peninsula, though I agree she isn't too uncommon for Turkey or the Levant.

Asma looks pretty Euro, except for her eyes. She has the same issue as me. She can fit anywhere in Europe if she wears sunglasses.

Something about her facial profile still looks Semitic to me (though more in a Jewish sense, rather than a stereotypical 'Arab' sense).

Her nose is a bit long, but sunglasses can hide that as well.

Not really atypical for their ethnicity. Lucy Liu is a typical Scandinavian (very similar to Finnish Swede (https://www.theapricity.com/forum/member.php?18828)), and Asma al-Assad can easily passes as a Kunoichi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunoichi).

Liu looks like what she is. Assad does as well, but she also looks like she can pass as a European Med to me as well.

The only thing 'odd' about Assad is that her facial features seem shrunken in relation to the size of her face, but this isn't something i'd mark as an ethnic feature of the levantine region.
