Reminds alot some Conquistador paintings with those sharp features, that peculiar dinarcization and pointy chin.

Is this prototypical Baskid ?

Yes, it's one of those faces with a combination of features wich I mentioned previously that I only associate as being Iberian.

I would say he looks Dinaricized Atlanto-Med. How common is dinaricization in Portugal? Some anthropologists think dinaricization is something that happens in most ethnicities, so it doesn't necessarily implies ''Dinaric'' (in the Albanian/South Slavic/Northern Italian sense) influence.

Yes, dinarcized Atlanto-Meds are often called Baskids if they are Iberian or even southwestern French.

Dinarcization here it's not uncommon but not as high as in Spain imo and considerably less than in Italy, alot of people are dinarcized but often in a different way that for example in Italy or the Balkans where they are more Dinarid.

Yes, as you know I am not a big defender that most phenotypes can be specifically associated to one particular country or micro-region since they can also be seen frequently in a much broader region comprising often several countries, but this is one of those cases that I can see only similar faces in Portugal and Spain (even more in Spain imo, very Baskid).

why peculiar?

Because of the type of dinarcization and pointy chin.

I think he looks Baskid/something else. The pic I saw of a typical "baskid" was a little heavier than his face. But I can tell you that he does look like a conquistador.

I guess you mean that his nose is peculiar? It might be Baskid influence, nothing peculiar.

Yes, I mean the combination of some traits, his nose type very pointy chin make him look peculiar, conquistador face.

Yes, but with even sharper features, more angular, that's what I found peculiar about his look.
