The Mycenaean is in fact shifted toward Sardinia relative to Sicily, and less Near Eastern than modern Sicilians. On GEDmatch it is evident, they DO lack our Levantine input. And the Dorian is blatantly shifted toward Iberia or North Italy/France, but with more NE European.

They are similar to Sicilians, yes, but Sardinian shifted on most calculators, have higher "Atlanto Med" and lack the Levant/North African input into Sicilians. It is obvious this way that they are NOT in fact identical to Sicilians and Ashkenazim, but more European.

Also noteworthy is the lack of Caucasian affinity. But as for Sicilians it makes me think Sicily got its Levantine affinity from Phoenicians, because why would they have been so different from Mycenaeans back then?

No doubt in my mind Dorians was a cause of reverse migration. Part of Neolithic expansion and forged Proto Linear Pottery which is a fusion of Thessalian Neolthic and Tardenoisian.. then migrated back or passing down knowledge through the generations possibly taking much of todays Greek language with them - perhaps taking much Atlanto-Med/Alpine R1b with them too

Basically, yes. Persians are mostly of indigenous west Asian origins, and the fact that the pre-Iranic iron age Iranians genetically cluster with today's Iranians in the middle east proves it. Like I said, being ethnically Iranic as in the case with other ethno-linguistic groups like Semitic, Turkic and so on is just a cultural and linguistic identity, not racial or genetic one.

Yeah, gedrosia k12 seems to test the most snps and the Mycenaean sample comes out as 3/4 Sicilian or Greek islander and 1/4 Sardinian. The Dorian age sample on the other hand looks like it could be modeled as modern Greek with more steppe ancestry and at the same time more neolithic ancestry, it completely lacks southwest Asian heritage which signifies an arrival from the steppe. Interesting stuff.

True. The only thing is, shouldn't it be lower for my father than me? As my mother(while from a mountainous region) is not as isolated. My fathers side is moreso. My mothers line claims descent from a Peloponnesen Albanian from the 1300s. So perhaps its due to mixture between Greeks Vlachs and Albanians? I noticed the Mycenean had a 40-45 IT component. Our atypical IT scores could explain the shift. Perhaps we preserved older Neolithic signatures? Otherwise why would we score way higher than all Italians?

Yeah, I think someone posted an ancient sample of a Montenegrin that was heavily steppe influenced.
Other than that, we can both conclude that we are mostly Neolithic Pelasgians with minor Indoeuropean.

Btw, LivingDNA might be more accurate since they mad ethe distinciotn between East and West Balkan.

Thats really cool. I am doing FullGenomes Yelite myself. My batch is undergoing sequencing. Could be a few months or so from now. LivingDNA tested me positive for Z283 but negative for all downstream clades, which were most outside the eurasian branch and Z282 which they dont test for.

Assuming LivingDNA is correct in their assertion, I wonder what my R1a Z283 will come back as. Ancestral Z283? Undiscovered clade? Even in autosomal, I have more steppe than my father. We both have very high Neolithic. I wonder what migration routes my line took. I suppose when I get my results I will have some indication whether its Kurgan Indo, slavic, germanic or what Idk.

I am considering ordering Y67 so I can integrate my FGC results with FTDNA/Yfull etc. So far most of my matches are from Greece and then Albania, on 23andme. Idk. This is the case with me and my father. Perhaps its the Neolithic admixture? In K36 the mycenaens results for IT component are 40-45. My father and I have atypical results Me(31) father(35.5). This tends to shift us to Tuscany in many calculators. Perhaps this explains that shift?

My guess is in Sicily it is due to Phoenicians and later historical migrations, while in Greece (both mainland and islands) it is due to more West Asian heavy Greeks from Anatolia migrating to Greece proper, who would have by then seen other migrations across Anatolia not yet in Mycenaeans.

Even mainland Greeks are closer in oracles to Levantines than those Mycenaeans are.

It isn't elevated, at least in Smyrna, Phokaia etc. Though note that the first inhabitants of the islands according to ancient Greek historians were Karians and Phoenicians and also that the colonists who were from all over Greece mixed with some ancient Anatolian people, especially Karians. Actually the father of Herodotus could have been Karian. He was likely of mixed Karian-Dorian ancestry.

There are Greeks that have less West Asian than the male Myceneans of the study.
Pontic Greeks could have had ancient Persian admixture too based on ancient history.

If we exclude Karamanlides who were Orthodox Turks the rest are as much Greek as other Greeks.

I am not, that I am aware of, an Arvanite. Genetically, I am pretty close to a Cretan (or Sicilian as you can see above). Ancestor-wise I hail from Chios, with some ancestors coming from Ikaria. Also the other side, the heart of the Morea, in Arcadia...no Arvanites in my family tree that I know of, but I wouldnt mind.
