View Full Version : If Mycenaeans are West Med shifted, then Sicilians/Cretans must have genuine Levantine DNA.

If this is how Mycenaeans come out (like Sicilians but with more West Med) and we can expect Minoans to be even more Sardinian shifted:

http://www.forumbiodiversity.com/showthread.php?t=48477&highlight=

and this is not seemingly out of character at all for SE Europe, then it implies the shift toward the Levant among Sicilians/Maltese is not just preserved ancient Neolithic type DNA. The strong Levantine shift did not yet exist at the time of Mycenaeans nor among the Dorians.

It is likely then that Sicilians and Maltese as well as the Aegean islands have genuine MENA ancestry from Phoenicians onward. And this is what is suggested by the nMonte simulations run by Semitic Duwa on ABF and posted here: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?217159-nMonte-simulations-for-Sicilians-Greeks-based-on-Mycenaean-DNA

It should be viewed that the Levant/Arabian type DNA in Europe is an intrusive element and not part of that which arrived during the Neolithic, which would have been Sardinian-like.

We would need to see the Minoan samples first before we can make a conclusion.

Minoans would have been like Mycenaeans without Steppe, which implies even more Sardinian type DNA.

Since you are ancient minoan you should add levantine to your ancestry list

All this West-Med and East-Med. I wonder how many people here can tell Sicilians from Sardinians. Must be easy for the experts here.

I am discussing DNA.
