Maybe it's just me, but he had an Alpine strain that made him look more Italian or even Greek than Iberian.

Possibly. But I do get a Spanish vibe. Also I will throw in there, for all who think I *only* emphasize when Sicilians and Cretans are dark... He could pass better in Lebanon and Turkey than in Sweden, Russia, Norway, or even Ireland.

But only as a Euro-Med Turk or Lebanese, insofar as that is true at all. I don't see anything markedly Anatolian or Levantine about him.

No, but he passes better than in Northern or in Slavic Europe.

Strongly french looking. He has also a quite international Politician look.
Could pass in Europe in a long "Central-southern belt" including i guess Balkans.

a complex phenotype, seems a mix of Alpine + Mediterranean + Dinaric.
Next to a truly brachicephalic type like Gorbatchev he looked gracilized and clearly more dolichocephalic:

In many pics reminds me of former Portuguese president Ramalho Eanes altough he was a pure Atlanto-Med (Baskid type) and lacked the Alpine element of Miterrand.

In all he seems more western/central type.
Best: SW Europe.
Worse: Northern Europe.

brennus dux gallorum

Very Italian looking, I would guess him as central Italian first

One way or the other, he has precisely a commonplace French face that (due to features, not pigmentation) looks odd for the UK.
