A cargo ship carrying timber on December 5 found itself stuck in sea ice off the coast of Abruka island. It had been on a mission to help another ship that had got stuck the day before.
Later, a third boat helped find escape routes through thinner ice, and both freighters were freed by the evening, wrote Meie Maa.
The timber vessel got itself in trouble after it attempted to cruise closely past the other entrapped vessel in order to break an ice path for it to follow.
