Pontic is overinflated and mindlessly used on Anthrofora. Bunak and Soviet anthropologists used it mainly for the NW Caucasus and Balkans as Mediterranean like type.

Instead Northern Pontic was used as an umbrella name for the various transitional and intermediate Meso-brachy types of Greater Russia: Polesian, Ryazan and Central Eastern subtypes.
