View Full Version : Would Julie Andrews pass better as a typical Irish or typical German?

She is, obviously, English. And as we know, English have shared ancestry with both Irish and Germans.

She looks exactly like my mother's friend who is fully Irish (from Cork and Galway) but for all I know that Irish friend could look English.

German imo, but easily passes as either.

German. But I see Danish in her face too, particularly below the nose.

I don't know what people think Irish looks like, but blonde/ginger with round blue-eyes isn't what comes to my mind... Scots-Irish people look Scythian to me, a bit Asian.

What do you think Irish looks like?

Scots-Irish people look Scytho-Slavic to me, i.e. Asian, like all Iranic/Turkic/Caucasus-origin people
Scot is a cognate for Scyth.

Scottish and Irish "Celts" have a Scythian origin, and the Welsh "Celts" have a Saxon origin. "Celt" seems more a linguistic and cultural identifier than a "racial" or ethnic one. Saxon and Scythian are literally two different clans from the same tribe in antiquity. Even the names Saxon and Scythian are cognates of Askenaz and Askuzi/Askuthi. And no this is not a reference whatsoever to Ashkenazi Jews, who are not the owners or originators of the tribe of Askenaz (Scythian/Saxon/ETC). Jews simply sojourned in the lands of Askenaz and those that did became known as Ashkenazi Jews.

Both overlap.
With darker hair (as MARy poppins) she looks uniquely British
