I am unsure specifically where he is from but he does have some kind of ancient look and I think that was the intent of using him for the photo (it was a Dolce & Gabbana fashion show).

Do you mean as in statues?
I think he seems quite disharmonious face too long, narrow, probably longheaded too and high stature.
Greek statues were more harmonic imo.
