Hi, please help me, she is my grandmother, I'm doing a genealogic research.
I know only a few things about her family, she didn't like to talk about this topic.

She was born in 1935 in Turin- Piedmont, northwest Italy.
Father unknown.
Her mother was from Turin, but my grandmother didn't look like her at all.

She had uncommon facial characters for my region: sharp profile, little brown upwarded eyes, thin nose and mouth, redhead. 165 cm tall (5,4 feet).

Thanks in advance fo the help!

Сербо Макеридов thank you.

I would say that she did not look like anybody in Turin - Piedmont, not for the red hair (we have a little amount of redheads), but for the face.
And I have a hole in family history, unfortunately.
Here I put another photo, a little bit more expressive.
Thanks!

Looks east baltic for me. I'd guess as baltic/ Russian or Finnish perhaps. Doesn't look Italian to me.

She doesn't look Italian to me.

LOL at ''Gallo-Italic'' look. Italic look is Dinaric + CM, not this.

Borreby + something I cannot detect is my classification for her.

Maybe I see that north east Europe vibe

To those who say she doesn't look Italian I have to remember you that Italy has the greatest genetic variance in Europe as proven by studies on our etherogenity

Father unknown is very interesting and the thing she was born during World War 2 is very suspicious as it points maybe to a baby born by an Italian mother and a foreign soldier

Those kind of relationships were fairly common; I have stories told by my grandmother that as she was 20 during the war she received loads of attention by American and German soldiers

Ariele; just do a genetic test like 23andme or similar to that; and it will unveil the mystery

If you don t plot with Italians then you have partly foreign origins

At test on you would unveil that

Thought if you want to be more sure a test on your grand ma if she s alive or her duaghter/son will be more useful to answer

Thanks to all, maybe I Will do a test. I can't answer the members of her family because almost dead and even when they were alive they hate each other. She never wanted to talk about her family. War teared her family apart, One part of the family was fascist, the rest was partisan, her preferred major sister was deported in ravensbruck concentration camp and she survived and turned at home. At the end of the War the family never spoke to each other, nevermore. She was only a child at the time and the only family member she loved is that sister, but now is dead. Thanks to all, I think I Will do more resarches! PS Sorry for the errors!

My grandpa was deported too to a concentration camp in Germany when Mussolini betrayed the Germans; they captured the troop of my granddad and made them prisionners

Hi, please help me, she is my grandmother, I'm doing a genealogic research.

Vista oggi.

Aveva fratelli maschi tua nonna? Tu sei al 100% di Torino?

Her grandmother was born in 1935. World War II lasted from 1939 to 1945.

Thanks Percivalle, I think the same.. She had only sisters. I'm half from Venosa-Basilicata and half from Turin. She had only a child, my father.

If I don't know that she had been Italian - I would classify her East European (Polish, Russian,...)

But I guess that she could pass in Italy (a lot of mix of different ethnics in most European countries). She could also pass as Northwest-European, but her vibe is not British or Dutch.

I have seen some pics of borreby type. This is her profile, exacty the same, same lips, same nose and front. But I know this is only a facial reconstruction of a mesolitic face. Weird but it's very similar.

Probably I'm doing a mistake.
But do you see similarities in lips, nose and front. ?
Or it's only because she is an old woman?

Allora devi fare l'esame del DNA a tuo padre. Ho i risultati di almeno una ventina di piemontesi al 100% e se vuoi ti aiuto a confrontarli con quelli di tuo padre.
