He had Pontic ancerstry from his father's side and Cretan from his mother. He was basically 50% Pontic Greek and 50% Cretan.

Yes he did have but it was not 50% as I stated. His mother Ioana (Tzeni) Aleksiou was from Crete , her father Radamanthys Aleksioy was Cretan and her mother Anastasia Zorba was from Macedonia.

So he was 50% Pontian, 25% Macedonian (Greek), 25% Cretan.
