I never know that Asian people actually exist in NE Asia. I think it's odd and weird to see an Asian individual in India. When I think of India, S. Asian people immediately come into my mind.

The Northeast of India is vastly different from the rest of India. Very different if I must say. Though there are many similarities. Assamese are quite close to Bengalis for one and can be seen as somewhat as Sister ethnic groups culturally and linguistically although of course differences will arise such as in genetics. Also Indians are Asians but I can understand you mean by the East/Southeast Asian kind.
