9 States Quietly Declare Their Independence

Occasionally, I’ll receive an email from Eric Nordstrom. He seems to change the name of his newsletter every few months, usually to whatever is fitting at the time, or dependent of the current events.

Tonight, I received an email newsletter entitled, “Patriot Network Alert 020409″ from Eric Nordstrom’s email address.

Before I go any further, I’d like to say I appreciate and respect this patriot’s level of passion and persistence to communicate his message to as many people as humanly possible. With that said, I’m puzzled about the opening of his email. In fact, I’ll re-post exactly what he said, then make comments after you read what he sent my way.

Good information to pass on to the sleeping public. It is preaching to the choir for most of you. Redistribute to the sleepers.

(ITEM 1)

9+ States have now declared sovereignty, now add Washington to the list.

In case you didn’t hear about it on the mainstream media (which you haven’t because they want to keep us asleep), numerous states are currently declaring or have already declared sovereignty, including:

Possibly: Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Montana, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, Illinois.

It is interesting to note that Arizona explicitly speaks about continuity of government and the role of servicemen.

“…if the President or any other federal entity attempts to institute martial law or its equivalent without an official declaration in one or more of the states without the consent of that state … individual members of the military return to their respective states and report to the Governor until a new President is elected…”

“The Tenth Amendment was intended to confirm the understanding of the people at the time the Constitution was adopted, that powers not granted to the United States were reserved to the States or to the people. It added nothing to the instrument as originally ratified.” — United States v. Sprague, 282 U.S. 716, 733 (1931).
When I read Item 1 from Eric’s email, I’m quite pleased to see Arizona, my home state, declaring their sovereignty. For years, I’ve firmly believed the federal government has grown too large and abused each State’s right and individual sovereignty. If the federal government encroaches on the independence of a State, and those elected State officials, including the Governor and Legislature, do nothing to cease the Federal Arm from violating individual human rights, then those officials should be removed from office by the people who elected them. The Governor as the Head Executive should stand up for her people, even if it means the end of her political career.

A Governor, as Head of State, should do what is ethically and morally appropriate in every situation. How can a Governor allow for the illegal search and seizure of person and property in their State? Two examples are: 1) electronic wiretapping of phone devices, computer emails, and bank accounts, or 2) federal agents searching a State citizen’s property without a proper search warrant from a judge.

It is important that our States maintain a high level of independence from the Federal Arm. We wouldn’t be the United States if it weren’t for each and every State.

This is why I was puzzled to read Eric’s email. To me, it seemed like he was bringing up this item, shinning a negative light upon it. He does provide a link to Ron Paul and Alex Jones discussing Obama’s stance on our country’s national sovereignty. The possibility does exist that our country might form a global coalitation with other nations.

But it’s the Governors, the State Legislatures, and “We the People” who will determine if we shed our national sovereignty or not. Our President doesn’t have this power. Nor does the Congress have this ability. The Governors and State Legislatures could stop any attempt of our nation joining the New World Order (or whatever they’ll call it). The 9 States that quietly declared their sovereignty have done a great service to their people; other States should follow in their steps.

I’m very proud of the Arizona State Legislature for formulating a bill that declares their state sovereignty. That same bill further details their right during martial law to call back servicemen to protect the state:

“…if the President or any other federal entity attempts to institute martial law or its equivalent without an official declaration in one or more of the states without the consent of that state … individual members of the military return to their respective states and report to the Governor until a new President is elected…”
How powerful is that? Very powerful!

This shows that the President is not above any one person or state. In fact, if I were Governor of Arizona and President Obama declared martial law, I would immediately call back all Arizona servicemen to protect the state and it’s people.

UPDATE: A reader has brought it to our attention that none of these resolutions or bills have officially passed into law in the 9 listed states. Though they are not State law yet, I encourage readers in each of these states to contact their representatives and government officials. It’s a matter of principle that our individual States of this Union maintain their sovereignty, even though they’re united in the great American spirit.
