Sefaradi Jews, either marranos (forcefully converted to catholicism, but keeping jewish traditions) or practicant jews played a big role in early brazilian history, they saw refuge in the new lands and bit more freedom than in Europe, despite the inquisition being active until 1821, with some brazilian jews being persecuted and killed.
Many of them were involved in agriculture and sugar plantations, and their descendants, known as "cristão novos", are wide spread in Brazil, specially northeast; Sadly, many of them may not know of their Jewish heritage, but still keep few traditions, despite adopting Catholicism as religion.

Some people joke that the true colonizers of Brazil were 'Jewish' or 'new cristians', but in fact at least 1/3 of them could have really been, at least in the northeast region.

Jews were responsible for one of the biggest crimes in human history: transatlantic slave trade.

That's all we need to know about Jews in Brazil.

Many cristãos novos were involved in sugar plantations and were slave owners, yes, also participating in the slave trade, so were portuguese, spanish, french and english, you try to throw all the blame on them lol.

Dom Pedro II also invited Sefarates from Moroccos to live in Amazônia:

Interesting they describe the maroccan jews as two communities: Sefarates that fled from Iberia during inquisition and the "native" jew community of Moroccos with probable origin in phoenician times.

Impossible, there were not that many Jews in Portugal to begin with.
Want an advice ? Don't learn history from youtube videos with an agenda.

I am eminently skeptical of this also without additional proof.

I'm skeptical about most brazilians being italian descendents.
