Well, against all odds, Brazil still has a royal family. Like in the UK, it has no real function, but unlike in the UK, the family does not hold official noble titles, since the monarchy has been abolished in Brazil.

Here they go:

Luís Gastão Maria José Pio Miguel Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga de Orléans e Bragança e Wittelsbach, His Imperial and Royal Highness, chief of the Brazilian Imperial House, claimant to the Brazilian throne

Anybody?

Trivia about Luís Gastão:

Prince Luís is a member of the Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Society_for_the_Defense_of_Tradition,_Fam ily_and_Property), a far right (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far_right) Catholic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic) organization which opposes land reform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_reform). After he succeeded Prince Pedro Henrique as the claimant to the Brazilian throne by the Vassouras branch, many royalists started questioning the desirability of having as their de jure Emperor a person belonging to this organization.
This shows Luís doesn't want to be pop, he stands firmly for his beliefs, even at expense of a possible growth in popularity of the monarchist movement.

More (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Society_for_the_Defense_of_Tradition,_Fam ily_and_Property):

The Brazilian TFP's campaign against what it termed "socialist and confiscatory land reform",[17][18][19] as well as its strident opposition to liberation theology, has led to criticism, in part from the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil,[20] which supported such land reforms.
The Catholic church in Brazil today is just a liberal-marxist charity organization.
Anyone opposing the land reform, as well as the MST, a criminal marxist organization that fights for the land reform and is openly backed by the current government (which disrespects the constitution by doing so), deserves kudos.

I think Luís Gastão has the profile of a ruler.
