5% is not the average actually for TURKS. But it could be the average for TURKEY. Turks often score a lot more than 5%.

In this study for example Turks (Including one Kurd and one guy from Artvin) are between 5%-21.7% Asian

And about Western Turks scoring more Asiatic dna than other Turks, i really don't know. But as far as i know Mongols pushed Turkmen tribes to Western Anatolia from Eastern and Central Anatolia. Maybe that could be the reason.

In that link for example the most mongoloid Turk is from Western Turkey (Sakarya, 16-18% mongoloid). I think i have to read more about Turkish history to find out why Western Turks are more "pure" compared to other Turks.

to be honest i'm not good at classifiying so i can't say anything

and no he's not from Adıyaman.

btw AFAIK Adıyaman is Kurdish-Turkish mixed city.
