Hedwig, the heroine of the popular historical novel "A Lady from the Window" by Jadwiga Łuszczewska (Deotyma) and of the move with Pola Raksa (1964), with the same title.

The story "Lady from the window" is set in seventeenth-century Gdańsk, where Lieutenant Kazimierz Korycki arrives. In the window of one of the houses, the lieutenant sees the beautiful Hedwig. Girl rescued as a child from the Turkish slavery is taken care of by councilor Johann Schultz, who wants to take Hedwig as his wife. The emergence of Korycki crosses some of his plans. Hedwig promises the lieutenant that she will become his wife. Unfortunately, it is not that easy. The jealous councilor imprisons her at the Amber House in Gdańsk.
Trying to win the hand of his beloved, the lieutenant explained the mystery of Hedwig origins, which in an unusual way connects her to his family.

Telimena Horeszczánka, probably from Soplicowo on the Lithuania. A Polish noble woman,
one of two main heroines, which is a overseer of another one main female charcter, which is
a type of a woman who is more wordly than local, patriotic, who travels outside of her native
neoghbourhood, used to live in the Petersburg being a member her modern society where she
learn almost cosmopolitan view on the world. At the same time, being in quite advanced age
(something before or around forty) lives alone, and (as any feminist at that age) desperatly is
looking for the husband, trying to get the younger main hero whi is in love with her niece which
she is taking care of. The action of the film is placed during five days in 1811 and one in 1812.

Maria Wilczurówna, daughter of Prof. Rafał Wilczur, alias Antoni Kosiba from The Quack (Polish: Znachor), a 1982 Polish drama film directed by Jerzy Hoffman

Set in Poland of the 1930's. A famous surgeon Prof. Rafał Wilczur is beaten by drunken bullies, loses his memory and cannot recollect who he was before. He gets to a village, lives in a not so well to do family and becomes the Quack – he slowly regains his talent for medicine and saves the lives of several village patients.

Plot
Stunning social and political career of an unemployed post office clerk, set in Warsaw in the interwar period.
Nicodemus Dyzma is a small-town man who comes to the Polish capital from the Eastern provinces (known as "Kresy") in search of work. While walking the streets of Warsaw, he finds a lost invitation to a party reception. Hoping for a free meal, he decides to use it since he owns a tuxedo. At the reception, he befriends a Member of Parliament and wins the hearts of guests with his attitude. He is introduced to a wealthy landowner by the name of Kunicki, a former con artist, who is so impressed by Dyzma that he offers him a job as superintendent of his country estate. At the estate, Dyzma meets Kunicki's wife, Nina, who quickly falls in love with him. Soon Dyzma takes control of all affairs of the estate and starts to climb the social and political ladder. He is offered a series of prestigious appointments; however, he is also forced to hide his past from the prying eyes of his adversaries and the general public.
