They appear as 50% Caucasian (Armenian/Abhkazian/Georgian etc) 25% Mediterranean (Italian and Greek) and 25% Central Asian (Kyrgyz/Kazakh/Shor/Altaian)

They have higher 'Baltic' type DNA than Sicilians. Interesting.

Aydın Turks arent 50% Armenian or Abkhasians what the f*ck?
It seems you are sort of easterner yourself and wanna paint everybody that way.
Aydın Turks come out as 50% Turkmen_Uzbekistan and 50% Aegean islander.

Mixed population sharing is based on components and living ethnicities are used to model individuals in a genetic way.

Turks all have Caucasian Hunter Gatherer (some calculators call it West Asian) component as first and most dominant component. Iranian plateau component is also present.
Even in Central Asia or lost parts of Europe you see those components.

That doesn't belong to Armenians.
Armenians speak IE language, their ancestors came from Kurgan steppe and assimilated natives.

Their story isn't so much different than Turks in this regard.

Even in Central Asia or lost parts of Europe you see those components.

That doesn't belong to Armenians.
Armenians speak IE language, their ancestors came from Kurgan steppe and assimilated natives.

Their story isn't so much different than Turks in this regard.

I was talking about 4 pop-mix. I'm aware of the fact that it's bullshit because the Turks who migrated to Anatolia were not similar to extra-mongolized Kazakhs or recent Yenisei Kyrgyz migrants, Kazakhs and Kyrgyzes are over 50% mongoloid and on average they're 60% or 80% mongoloid. Half Turkmen/Nogay half East Med (Lebanese, Sephardim, Cyprian etc) fits them better imo. But in 4 pop-mix they appear as 50% caucasian 25% med and 25% central asian.

They have higher 'Baltic' type DNA than Sicilians. Interesting.

Scythian influence or the Anatolians had European input in them. Could be either. But the most mongoloid samples don't have that much Baltic compared to Afyon sample.

This sounds plausible to me. Before entering the territory of modern Turkey they conquered Iran and Azerbaijan, so I guess they weren't like Kazakhs in the late 11th century. And the Anatolians were most likely similar to Assyrians, Armenians, Pontic Greeks and maybe even Kurds.

Would like to see their Dodecad K7b results. It has a more basic division (NE Euro, Mediterranean, Caucasian, Siberian, East Asian, African, South Asian) which is good in some cases.

They were probably not similar to Kurds. I think the Anatolians were most similar to Cypriots or Sephardic Jews (half med half levantine people). Also Turkish migration didn't only happen in the 11th century, migration began in mid 1000s and lasted till 1300s. There were 2 major events that triggered large scale migrations, Battle of Manzikert and Mongol Invasion. Battle of Manzikert allowed some Turkish tribes to seek new lives in a different land. Mongol Invasion forced Turkish tribes to escape from Central Asia to Anatolia because Mongolians were slaughtering everyone there. Ottoman family also escaped from Khorasan to Anatolia during the Mongol invasion. There were still migrations from Central Asia to Anatolia after 1300s though, but not very relevant because they were few in number.

I got the results from All-In, maybe he knows their Kitnumbers and can post K7b results?

And the absorption of Balkan and Caucasian muhajirs took place only in the 18-19th centuries.

Dodecad K7b results as requested

btw. I have to say that I am not sure if these people are really from aydin and afyonkarahisar . I just took them from a person who claimed that they are . I think they are from those places however I dont know them so no guarantee

and I think nr. 2 and 3 of the aydin turks is the same person xD probably tested with different companies . and one of her kit nr. has a foreign name onto it which I think is probably due to marriage or just for fun though. I will post both of her results nonetheless

They have higher 'Baltic' type DNA than Sicilians. Interesting.

That's because Turks have assimilated a lot of Balkan Slavs, unlike Sicilians.

Lavrentis

Scythian influence or the Anatolians had European input in them. Could be either. But the most mongoloid samples don't have that much Baltic compared to Afyon sample.

It's neither Scythian and neither because Anatolians had European input in them. Anatolians never came in contact with an Eastern European people. They score Baltic because Turkey has assimilated a lot of Balkan Slavs.

Would like to see their Dodecad K7b results. It has a more basic division (NE Euro, Mediterranean, Caucasian, Siberian, East Asian, African, South Asian) which is good in some cases.

The problem with that calculator is the lack of a NW Euro component, which limits its usefulness for people of Germanic or Celtic descent.

And where they got their Baltid from?

Goes way back to Gökturks, they had Baltic admixture from Indo-Europeans that mixed with the native Altaians, on top of that Turkmens are a result of dominantly Mongoloid Steppe people and Eastern Iranian people in Turkmenistan (they had Baltic admixture too)

naming the siberian and east asian component as "turkic" would be misleading since no turkic ethnicity/person can score 100% of it . these people are way more than 14.5% turkic because the east asian / siberian is just a part of the turkic peoples genome .

and I dont know in what way you mean that turks differ THAT much from their neighbors anyway . there are many phenotypes among turks that are also existing in neighboring nations ...well except turanid , aralid stuff of course

Yeah this guy was Slavic and born in Anatolia (there were Slavic settlements in Anatolia):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_the_Slav

Those were Balkan Slavs / South Slavs deported / resettled by the Byzantines to Anatolia.

Also this woman was Slavic (there is a dispute whether she was Polish or Ruthenian):

First of all, Turkic=/=Mongoloid. Because the Turks who migrated to Anatolia were not 100% Mongoloid people. they were between 20-50% mongoloid.
Second, phenotype is not directly related to genotype. Many Turks can pass as local in many places in Eurasia. But Turks indeed have unique phenotypes (mostly Turanid and Iranid influenced phenotypes)

it's kind of surprising that the Greeks left almost no genetic heritage in Anatolians despite ruling over them for centuries. This is why most Turks come up as half C. Asian and half Jew/Levantine even though the samples are very close to mainland Greece (Aydın Afyon etc). How come Anatolians were Hellenized like this? Turkification for example left a significant genetic impact because it mostly happened through intermarriages.

I am 1/32 Smyrna Greek and on 23andme I get around 2% Balkan (my mother scores none so it must be from my father), which means that Greek ancestor was likely to be close to mainlanders on 23andme who score mostly Balkan and then a secondary Italian component.

Greeks ruled and hellenized anatolians through education, but there were not many intermarriages between original Greeks and anatolians from inland anatolia. Very few turks have limited Greek ancestry, and those are only from Aegean coasts, which were colonized by Greeks, inland turkey is technically "clear" from Greek admixture, even in case of very western cities

Hahaha can you see jews and assyrians on that results? HAhahahhahahhahaah!
