In the days way back yonder when, more often than not all would partake of foods being prepared in the Community in the Thing Hall. It was here where guests were received by the Jarl, the women came to meet for the latest community news, the men to take a break from their daily labors, court was held in instances of wrong-doings, and other daily events of the community.

Needless to say, food was kept prepared nearly 24/7.

Said to be the most well-known and most
grand of the mead halls is Heorot which is
the central location of the Saga of Beowulf
(skald unknown as well as origin of his saga).

From the saga of Beowulf: (paraphrased by me self)
"Then, as I have heard, the work of
constructing a hall was proclaimed to
the tribes spread throughout this
realm called middle earth.
In time, somewhat quickly as happens
in the lives of men, the labor ended,
and the largest and most magnificent
of halls was ready for the lives of
men and their deeds.
He whose word was law far and wide
gave it the name "Heorot" or Hall of the Stag".

And so, all descendents of the Ancestors, what types of food and how was the food prepared before the Christians came to save the Ancestors from themselves?

My family didn't come to the States until the early 1890's. I'll wager that we are cooking more traditional meals than y'all are (except the fish soap. We don't do the fish soap). I hear McDonald's is doing really good over there..
