It doesn't have to conflict with that. You can descend from multiple people. Serbs and Bosniaks have Illyrian and possible Vlach ancestry as well for example.

Obviously Slavic ancestry dominates in any case.

its not true at all though the iranian orgin is laughable, Croats are slavs with some illyrian celtic and vlach blood

The only possibility is that the name Croatia and proto-Croats were Iranian-speakers. Modern day Croats being genetically Iranic (to any degree) is obviously bullshit. The possibility that the name Hrvat is of Iranic origin is fairly small and unlikely.

Also, Iranic and Persian are not synonyms. Some Iranics (i.e. Scythians) looked White. Modern Croats have no West Asian influence in their autosomal DNA otherwise we would know about it.
