Dravidian languages have nothing to do with indo-European languages anyway. The closest European languages to Sanskrit are Lithuanian and Greek. I don't know too much else, but slavic languages diverged way too late to be anywhere near Sanskrit. Even Armenian is ridiculously close to Sanskrit if I remember correctly.

Lithuanian has remained virtually untouched according to linguists. And it kind of does sound the same to Greek, I've mistaken tons of Lithuanian names for Greek.

These are the main population shifting events of South Asian history.
