View Full Version : I ordered 23andme test few weeks ago
I ordered it from ebay for 50$, I got it one week later, payed lab fee since turned out it wasnt payed and registered the kit , sent it to the lab only to have them refund the fee i payed because the kit was bought for the US and since I live outside they couldnt process my results.
What a stupid policy.

Well you should have bought your kit from them (23andme) in the first place.

Moral of the story, dont buy cheap dna kits from ebay coz they are not really cheap but pretty much same price in the end and in my case i lost 50$

So did you buy the actual kit in the end? I personally don't buy stuff from ebay but Amazon when it comes to online shopping

Yh, if the seller is reliable and are well-known I too would buy from Ebay but I almost always use Amazon as I have never encountered a scammer on there

Their italy/greece makes no sense how they lumped it together and how they lumped part of balkans into east europe.
Its not more accurate than 23andme tbh.. anyone telling you anything else probably has a low iq

Ancestry makes more sense of those "Broadly" categories on 23andMe though.

23andme goes back only 500 years ancestary goes back further

Nah.but i will later
I dont know if it was a scam, i dont think it was as i got the kit and everything, unused, its just 23andme's stupid policies how they couldnt process my kit since it was bought from the US and since I had sent it to them from another country as if it fucking matters

It doesnt matter when their lumping makes no sense, same for livingdna.. + you wont know your haplogroups either

Iirc they updated the references and added a group called "Albania, Greece and Turkey" as well as a south Slavic group. Still though they shouldn't add Albania and Greece into the same group with Turkey
