An interesting example of how Austrians can look like Italians as well as the reverse.

Not at all LOL. Why is it so hard to believe that a country near Italy and the former Yugoslavia can have some dark types?

Dinarid mostly.

I think she looks typical in balkan countries.

This proves that central Europeans can also look Mediterranean. Also proves that the north - south gap in countries like Italy is not as vast as portrayed.

Slightly alpinized Dinarid or Dinaro-Med.

I still have to find an "Italian look".

She has a Dinaro-Med look which is much more associated with Italy than Austria. My point is that anthrotards and Nordicists always love to say how Italy is next to Austria and not far from Germany and thus full of blue-eyed blondes, when in actual fact their Northern neighbours can look Mediterranean too.

Yes. But some Italians can also look Nordic or Northern European in general. I have a cousin (I posted her today btw) who could easily be German and even Scandinavian.

Yes I know that. But my point is that the overlap between Austria and Italy is because some Austrians can look Mediterranean AS WELL AS because some Italians can look Germanic, and this is often overlooked.

Italy has indeed many types, it's hard to define a common "Italian look"

Perhaps it is more accurate to talk of an "Italian spectrum" instead, ranging from types like Massimo Ambrosini and Mirco Bergamasco to Fabio Quagliarella and Enrico Lo Verso.

Overall though the overlap has to with the lighter Nordic types.
In other words there are more Italians that can pass as non dark Austrians than Austrians that can pass as dark Italians. I am not talking absolute numbers but percentage wise.

Maybe someone like Totti would be the most stereotypical. I think he can pass as a common type all around Italy.

OK I agree there, but my point is the overlap is not just in one direction.

No, I didn't mean that. In my opinion Maldini has more an "uncommon" vibe than Totti, and this is not related to their phenotypes.

Both pairings have some overlap, but relative to the fact that they involve neighbouring European countries yes they are quite different in both cases.

My point about the woman in this thread is she would be on the exotic end for Italy, so it should not surprise you she is very atypical for Austria. She might even fit in the Levant.

It does not surprise me for Southern Europe. Most of the time if Austrians and Italians look alike it is due to the latter having Germanic types, not Austrians looking darker.

In the first two she can even pass in Cyprus. Is she Jewish?

A lot of Jews assimilated before or during the Nazi regime. Literally 100,000s in Greater Germany since the time of the Frankists if not before. A great example of an assimilated Jewish family is the Bleibtreu family. The Bleibtreu's converted from Judaism in the 18th century (from memory) but you can clearly see Moritz Bleibtreu looks very Jewish;
