American journalist is jailed in Zimbabwe and faces up to TWENTY YEARS for 'tweeting Robert Mugabe is selfish and sick man'

Police picked up 25-year-old Martha O'Donovan (pictured left outside court) on Friday in the capital, Harare, U.S. Embassy spokesman David McGuire confirmed. Police accuse O'Donovan, who had been working with local social media outlet Magamba TV, of tweeting 'We are being led by a selfish and sick man,' from the Twitter handle @matigary, her lawyer Obey Shava with Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights said. It was the first arrest made since Robert Mugabe (inset with his wife Grace) last month appointed a minister for cybersecurity, the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights said, a move criticized by activists as aimed at clamping down on social media users.
