Highest Greek region for nearly all of the Sicilians is Crete or Dodecanese. Greek mainlanders are much closer to all of the Slavic groups than the Sicilians are. The MENAs are closest to Dodecanese, Sicily, and Calabria out of all of the Europeans. There is also a high match between western Sicily and Algeria/Tunisia.

You will see when I begin posting southeastern Sicilians and mainland Greeks that the similarity to MENAs drops off very sharply.

Messinese/Calabrese will be scoring Dodecanese over Crete also.

Yet they call us "some people from Siberian Jungles"

Calabria and Dodecanese are very close.

What I notice also is western Sicilians have higher North African (higher proximity to the Tunisia/Algeria) which none of the Greeks have nor Calabria/Messina as much. You will see this in other results also.

If these West Sicilians have more Levantine ancestry, why is their distance from Greece and Cyprus the same? Wouldn't their scores with Cyprus be higher?

They have high Afroasiatic input like Cyprus but less Caucasian like Greeks. Plus they have the Berber mixture.

I will do southeast Sicily next and it'll clarify.

The most interesting thing of all for me is that you and your cousin are closer to Cypriots than Egyptians!

Is that because modern Egyptians have more SSA admixture?

Yes. Our SSA admixture is less than 4% in contrast to the average Egyptian. Hell, me and my cousin were able to pass among the general Greek populace without trouble whatsoever.

My one question I have is in Western Asia what countries do the values of 47, 56, and 63 correspond to? Also, I guess outside of southern Italy and Sicily I’m mostly related to the Greek islands, The Levant and North Africa

I am unsure. But it does make sense you would be close to Crete and Dodecanese. Most southern Italians are and vice versa.

Obviously cherrypicked results. Albanians get 80% ++ either with north italy, central or south + greece and sometimes montenegro

I myself get like 86% with northern Italy, Venetia .. how is it possible that its not the same for Italians.

More Southern plotting Albanians get better similarity with Southern / central italy + Southern greece , more Northern with northern italy and Montenegro + Northern Greece

Sure, cherrypicked because these results don't fit with your idea that all Albanians = Northern Italians. To begin with there is no Veneto/Venetia in this K36 similarity tool but instead there is Friuli for North-Eastern Italy. There is obviously much more variation in North Italy than in the whole Albania. Northwestern Italians are more western-shifted than Northeastern Italians. But even Northeastern Italians haven't the same percentages of Balkan-like components of Balkanites, and Venetians have less of it than Furlans. How can you even think that all the Northern Italians can be similar in the same way to Albanians? Albanians are a smaller population than the Italian one. And anyway even Ghege/Northern Albanians can be more more similar to Central Italians rather than to Northern Italians. Obviously there may be Northern Albanians who have higher percentages of similarity with Northern Italy, but this more with the eastern side of North Italy rather than with the whole North Italy.

There are four samples from North Italy in the K36 similarity tool, and these are their average results

Northwestern Italians from Aosta
