Does anyone else here also have the impression that Copts are significantly less SSA admixed than their Muslim brethren both in Egypt (perhaps the rest of North Africa too)? Do you know of any autossomal tests performed on them?
Since they've been very endogamous since the Muslim conquest, and therefore (as far as I know) much less affected by the Trans-Saharan slave trade, I'd say that this hypothesis is quite plausible.
What are your thoughts?
