Estonian ferry company Linda Line is launching a new route between Helsinki and Kuivastu, the port of Estonia's Muhu Island, reports Estonian newspaper Meie Maa. Kuivastu serves as the main access point to the popular vacation islands of Muhu and Saarenmaa.
The catamaran will accommodate up to 400 passengers and will make the journey on Wednesdays during the summer period as of mid-May.
The service is the first direct route between Finland and Saarenmaa, Estonia's largest island and a well-known resort area.
Preliminary timetables suggest that the catamaran would depart from Helsinki at 2 pm and arrive at Kuivastu at 6 pm. Following a stopover of one hour, it would embark on the return trip at 7 pm and arrive in the Finnish capital at 11 pm.
A one-way ticket from Helsinki to Kuivastu would run between 40 and 50 euros, according to Linda Line manager Enn Rohula.

Btw, interesting that YLE chooses to use the Finnish spelling of Saaremaa [Saarenmaa in Finnish] even in English. Is that proper etiquette? :D
