That’s a fifth of the student population in a country not long ago deemed to be a model “moderate” Muslim nation.

The steady rise of “a rise of a hardline, politicised Islam in Indonesia” has become a problem not just for Indonesia, but for the entire world.

Professor Muhammad Sirozi, rector of the State Islamic University Raden Fatah, also stated that “radical organizations can spread like a virus in universities.”

This is a grave warning that should be heeded not only in Indonesia, but worldwide. Jihad (stealth and violent) and the jihad ideology have proliferated on Western college and university campuses, and continue to escalate in tandem with the phenomenon of Islamic funding of Western universities.

The jihad ideology is also propagated in the West from many Saudi-funded mosques. There has been ample reporting about Islamic hate preachers in the U.S., Canada, Britain and Western Europe, but few have faced any consequences. Those who shed light on their misdeeds, however, are branded “Islamophobic.”
