They love stealing your money, everything for them is money, at least here in Rio de Janeiro.

Today I went to my old school to get some documents that should be free, but they asked me money. I found this absurd

But I loved it because the principal asked if I am under age or not, and if I am coming with my parents.

So, I may look like im under age, forever young!!!

Maria Odete Brito de Miranda, known as Gretchen[1][2][3]; born May 29, 1959 in Rio de Janeiro)[1][2][4] is a Brazilian singer, reality television personality, actress, and businesswoman.[5] She achieved popularity with the movie Aleluia, Gretchen, which tells the story of a German Brazilian immigrant family.[6] Gretchen is known for reinventing both her music and representation, and for maintaining her autonomy within the music industry.[7] She has a vast musical repertory, and has been a source of some controversy throughout her career. Referred to as the Rainha do Bumbum ("Queen of Butt"),[3] Gretchen is often cited as an influence by other artists

Nowadays, Gretchen is considered an Internet meme, reaching millions of sharings all over the social medias in Brazil and in the world.[original research?] She also has a YouTube channel named Gretchen & Você (Gretchen & You), where she shares her life and routine.
On July 3, 2017, she was featured on Katy Perry's "Swish Swish" lyric video.[17][18] She also appeared with Rita Cadillac in a Netflix Brasil commercial to promote the series GLOW

My opinion on private schools in Brazil and perhaps the rest of South America or even the Third World as a whole is this: If you are not some über wealthy family that can pay for a really good private school, it is a waste of money for the most part. It's much better to just save your money and encourage your children to study harder, especially the subjects they show the most talent for. Make sure they get at least a 7 (or C) on subjects they don't like so much, and make them study at home the things they like.

Private schools are only expensive in noble neighborhoods.

And those are the only schools that prepare you to be part of the elite or close to it. The other private schools aren't much better than public ones.

The educational system of private schools is better than those of the government in Brazil. I have nothing to complain about this, I already studied in public school and I saw that they knew less of the things that I do.

It depends. Some students in public schools can be quite knowledgeable and intelligent, but public schools do lower your will to study and learn. With good parenting, it doesn't make much difference though. It only makes a difference if you are part of the elite or upper-middle class.

Public schools are actually private schools. Public schools are the most elite and expensive schools and they cater for the aristocracy and royalty. Most aristocrats, leading politicians, prime ministers, princes, kings, royalty, etc, all say they went to a 'public school'... such as Eton. (Etonians.)

Public schools (the name is a misnomer, although most people are aware of what a public school is.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_school_(United_Kingdom)

Private schools are usually for the middle classes;- it depends on which individual school you attend whether or not it will have a good or an excellent reputation. Most parents read the school reviews and the reviews of parents who sent their children to the schools, and will view the exam pass rate comparison charts each year between schools, before deciding which school to enrol their children at.

Comprehensive/state schools are free and cater to the working classes. Some have very good reputations and exam result success amongst their students in their charts which parents can view and compare the charts of student progress in state schools, before enrolling their children at a school and purchasing a school uniform, etc.

School uniforms differ between infant/primary schools, junior schools, and secondary schools, and uniforms differ between each individual school too. Winter uniforms can vary a bit from summer uniforms, and also children are required to bring with them and wear the necessary separate uniform kits during P.E. (physical exercise/gym) lessons.

It's the law in the UK for all school students from age 5 onwards to wear school uniforms until the age of 16. It makes no difference if children attend an elite public school, a private school, or a free comprehensive school, or a religious school, a grammar school, or a primary, junior, or secondary school.... the law requires all children to wear uniforms.

School uniforms are important as it makes children feel equal to everyone else in their class and school and provides a sense of belonging.

If a student goes missing during a school class outing, people can find them more easily if they're wearing the uniform of the school they belong to.

Children feel like they're in a study mode whilst wearing their smart school uniforms, and when they remove their uniforms at home and change into casual clothes they feel they're in a more relaxed frame of mind.

It also prevents distractions in schools as children don't need to compete over how they're dressed in order to be accepted, but will focus on their studies more than how other students are dressed.

School uniforms also prevents children from having to worry about what to wear in the mornings before attending school.

It's important that all students look smart and don't arrive to school dressed in sloppy and casual clothes as if they're in a playground. Students must dress in a smart uniform and look professional whilst studying with other students.

Most school uniforms require a white blouse or shirt, a blazer, cardigan, or v-necked jumper (usually navy, red, burgundy, or green ... depending on the school,) some require the school logo on it, a tie for females and males, and skirts for females of a certain length and colour, white socks, smart shoes (usually black,) and smart school trousers of a certain colour for the males.

Specialist local shops make the local school uniforms, and it's not expensive to buy a few shirts, cardigans, blazer, school satchel, and also school P.E. kit uniforms for gym lessons, which usually consists of white plimsoles, navy shorts, and a T-shirt of a certain colour, depending on each school.

It works-out cheaper for parents to buy a school uniform than if they sent their children to school dressed in casual clothes.

Make-up and jewellery is also forbidden in most schools, but some school make small allowances for small and discreet stud earrings (not loops or dangly earrings,) and a small watch is allowed. Very subtle make-up on older teen students is sometimes permitted in secondary schools. If a student walked into school wearing bright red nail polish or bright lipstick, they'd be sent to the headmaster and forced to remove it, scolded and given detention time for breaking the school rules, and a warning letter would be sent to their parents.

Church of England schools usually have a good reputation and they're also free. They have very nice and good primary schools for infants.

It's a great pity that free Grammar Schools for students are being phased out by the government. Children who pass their exams at age 11 academically earn their way into a free grammar school, which is a secondary school for students age 11 and up. Grammar Schools are for the most intelligent children in society (regardless of their social background,) so that academically bright students from age 11 can progress higher in society due to their advanced intellect and ability.

My sister went to a good grammar school after passing her 11+ exams. My cousin earned a scholarship to enter a certain school... the school building looked like something out of Harry Potter and was full of snooty people when he went to view the place with my aunty, so he turned down his scholoarship offer and went to a free academy instead. His younger sister also earned a scholoarship entry into the school, and she also turned-down the offer of going to that school. It wasn't the closest school for them to travel to each morning.

As a to teenager, he would cycle to the beach every evening, read loads of books about renewable energy, was always reading books about science, and was well-behaved and polite. He doesn't smoke or drink, and he went to Italy to help contribute to a project there and attended political party meetings with the Liberal Democrats party by age 18. He went to a non-private and free academy. He's now at a good university in Cornwall.

UKIP (UK Independence Party) want our Grammar Schools to be saved.

As Lily said UK "public" schools don't mean government funded or "free". Private sector schools, where you must pay a fee to attend, and thus regardless of being called "public" they really aren't. One of the reasons why they're called "public" is any student, regardless of social background, religion, etc., can apply & be accepted as long as someone foots the bill. UK private schools, on the other hand, can and do say buzz off to applicants that don't quite "belong" among their ranks.

Public schools per Brazil, & wherever else they are considered "free" schooling, would be the UK's state schools.
