Classify Irish Football Fans

Irish fans are travelling en masse to Copenhagen ahead of the crucial first play off game with Denmark. The next game will be played in Dublin. Could people classify them and what other countries could they pass in as a whole? Thanks

Pred. Keltic Nordids, Subnordids, North/Atlantids. All of them would pass in British isles, and the majority would pass in France as well I think. I don't know Iberia that well but a few look like they would pass there too.

Btw is it normal for me to think that these two look Welsh?

Pred. Keltic Nordids, Subnordids, North/Atlantids, and North/Pontids. All of them would pass in British isles, and the majority would pass in France as well I think. I don't know Iberia that well but a few look like they would pass there too.

They are actually Northern Irish but follow Ireland (as do a lot of Northern Irish Catholics). They are from Newry. All the others are from the Irish Republic. Irish, Welsh, Scots look similar as do a lot of English.

The best are the Gaelic Athletic Association sites as they have multiple teams from every county in Ireland. They are called GAA for short. They have teams in nearly every town in every county in Ireland. There are endless photos to choose from. There are also lots of fan pictures usually very county specific. There are also lots of pictures from the Irish newspapers. But the GAA ones are where I get most of my pictures.

GAA play Irish football, hurling and camogie for the girls. GAA is the largest participation sport in Ireland. GAA participation dwarfs soccer, rugby union or any other sport in Ireland.

Most children and teenagers will participate in GAA.

I personally think the swarthiness of the Welsh is exaggerated on Anthro sites. Like any group you can pick individual pictures for any population that might not be a true reflection of what the majority or average look like. That's why I also think people should always include group pictures as well. Yes Ioan Gruffudd would pass in Ireland / Britain. Gavin Henson has a very unusual look and would not be common anywhere although there are always some unusual types you can find.

I think he has the leftover phenotype of some prehistoric settler that ol' Grab the Gauge was talking about. He looks just like any other keltic nordid to me but a bit swarthier. And btw pls don't think I'm cherrypicking, I'm just clueless is all lol. I'm just interested in these phenotypes because they look unique. I know they are rare, because I haven't heard of them until visiting this forum. When you find types like these cohabitating a region that is known for having the most amount of redheads in Europe you have no other choice but to be impressed :rolleyes:

I wasn't specifically saying you were cherrypicking. :) It was just a general comment because I think a lot of people do it here to show populations how they want them to be seen not actually how they are.

They are dark types everywhere and in places like Ireland a lot of them carry the red haired gene because they have the largest amount of people in any population that carry it. This will come out when the Irish DNA Atlas release their results. My aunt was of darker colouring but all her children were redheads.

I think most countries have a variety of looks. It is just the averages that are different.

Regarding whether someone is darker in colouring or not they all cluster with people of the same nationality which kind of shows they are not some relic or leftover remnant.
