pontid-alpine? Im not really sure at all and VERY new to this so I'm probably way off...

For some reason I find he looks a bit Polish... like one of my cousins.

Looks like a Turk. Pontid+Turanid. Many Romanians have a Turanid component, due to ancient mixture with turkic tribes during the Early Middle Ages.

Turk? Aren't Turks more middle eastern looking? Either way that's still cool info. So since you said most romanians have a turanid component what are the odds of someone that's one eight Romanian having Turk blood or origins?

I've never said most Romanians have a Turanid component, only that some have Turanid influences. In Moldavia, Turanid elements are absent. In Transylvania, they are common because of Hungarian and Pecheneg admixture, whereas in Vallachia they are less common, but still present. There is even a minority of Romanians with clear Mongoloid influence (of same Old Turkic origins). An example is my 13 year old niece, who is 100% Romanian from Vallachia (see attachment).

Alright, my bad for taking your words out of context (I was reading it on a small ipod). Either way the Romania and Turk relationship interests me quite a bit.

Slightly slanted eyes, salient cheekbones,features I've seen more often in Turks than in Romanians (tribute to old Turkic infusion). Mediterannean-Turanid combination is Turks' hallmark... Please note that conversion to Islam has stopped the gene flow between Turkic peoples and old Romanians, so this mixture was very ancient (prior to a thousand years ago).
