Corruption in Ukraine is not just at the surface level like it is in the west (CEO make$ illegal business deal with Mr.x) - in Ukraine corruption is embedded at a deeper level all the way down to bartering your way into buying groceries. When it's this widespread (the average Ukrainian will encounter it several times a week) it is hard to dislodge this "habit". This is probably a legacy of buying off/bribing Tatars, to pay them off a little so Ukrainians can be left alone to grow wheat/bread. It's epigenetic. The way of the serf.

Also, if Russians did not have such vast mineral resources and wealth, their GDP would be just as terrible as Ukraine if not worse. Russians = Ukrainians with land.

You're correct that Botswana has a pretty decent and stable governance (for example their corruption rate is on the level of Israel or Poland, which is pretty good for an African country), but there are some other factors aswell. It is a pretty large country with low population density and not so many ethnic divisions (which means there are fewer opportunities for internal ethnic conflicts) with a huge diamond industry, the largest in the world in fact. They've been really, really lucky the British didn't discover the diamonds, when Botswana was their colony.

Spics aren't colonizing anything. They're walking into the country and our leaders refuse to take any action to stop them. Well consider this, Norway and Russia both have a similar population density (people per square km) yet Norway U$D per capita is something like 60,000 USD and Russia is 15,000 or thereabouts. They both have similar natural resources yet Norwegians are managing it more effectively for whatever reason. More intelligent? I don't know.
