Jarmo Virmavirta (http://et.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarmo_Virmavirta):

But he also says:

Hmm. :D

How about a translation? :P

Sure:

According to Virmavirta, with the advent of the euro, Estonia has become the most Westernized [the word used, lännettyä, is obviously based on the word "suomettua," finlandization (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finlandization)] of the Nordic countries.

And:

The drastic measures used to balance the Estonian economy have been possible, because Estonia does not have a trade union movement nor a political oppisition in the European sense, Virmavirta writes that this is due to the heritage of the Soviet period.

Estonia is geopolitically a Baltic country, not a Nordic country, but considering that Finland was still mentioned as a Baltic state in the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact in 1939, then this is logical. As Estonia has been reindependent for about 19 years, while Finland had been independent for 22 years in 1939. Geopolitical drift (http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22409) takes a lot of time.
